Welcome to Garbage Is Complicated, and thank you for being here. This site is about garbage, its impact on our world, and what you can do to lessen the burden. It's an exploration of the three R's (reduce, reuse, recycle), along with conscious consumerism, sustainability, and climate change. It might get uncomfortable and a bit messy at times, but it'll never get judgy (except in the Hall of Shame). Dive into this dumpster with me and let's get trashy.

ABOUT ME

An avatar of the Garbage Lady

I grew up in the Midwest and have lived most of my adult life in the Pacific Northwest. I miss fireflies and balmy summer nights, but I don't miss June bugs or freezing winters. I worked in the tech industry for over 25 years, spending a good chunk of that time as an editor. I know that less dough makes fewer cookies and that nauseous people make me nauseated. I like to follow rules, and I also like figuring out when to break them. I don't like worrying about our planet, though, so I started Garbage Is Complicated as a platform to raise awareness and inspire action.
